Training to assist family members, caregivers, and service providers in supporting the individual.
What is Therapeutic Consultation?
Therapeutic Consultation is meant to provide to persons who desire to learn new skills, increase independence, meet new goals, or develop more effective ways of interacting with the people in their lives. Each person, along with their support team, works with one of our licensed and/or certified clinicians to create a support plan to help them achieve what is most important to and for them. This includes offering our expertise, training, and technical assistance in a specific area to assist family members, caregivers, and service providers in supporting the individual with these goals.
Individuals that currently receive the VA Community Living or the Family and Individual Support Waiver.
Therapeutic consultation services may be provided in the individual’s home, in other appropriate community settings, and in conjunction with another waiver service, like a group setting.
Behavioral Consultation is one of the specialty areas listed under Therapeutic Consultation. These services may be provided, based on the individual’s plan of care, for those individuals for whom specialized consultation is clinically necessary to enable their utilization of waiver services and who have additional challenges restricting their ability to function in the community.
Oh my goodness where do we start! I wish every patient could be cared for by both Katelin and Brandon. Kindness, caring and professional therapy is what you get with them. They go beyond their assigned work duties. They made me feel like they cared about me the patient . I was not a number and a hurry to get out the door! Don’t get me wrong they worked me hard and thank God I have improved so much ! We are so fortunate to have them in our little town of Ewing, Va.Ethel Chadwell
Appreciate all the care for our Mother. Katlyn has a caring nature and the education and experience to put that to use on helping my Mom walk. The 11th of February and we were told at facility at Mountain View that my Mother would never be able to walk. She is walking on a walker. If you know her history. As my sister Susie Swinney said Katlyn has done wonders for our Mom. Also thank Brandon for all his help.Edith Chandler
